$25.99
Belgian 33 Squadron Fouga CM.170 Magister Patch from the Belgian Air Force attached to 9 Wing 1990s Variant A
This Belgian 33 Squadron Fouga CM.170 Magister Patch is embroidered on twill merrowed edge 77mm three inches diameter.
This variant of the patch (Variant A) features a blue merrowed border with a pale cream background behind the aircraft. The blue border gives the patch a cleaner appearance and is believed to be one of the standard squadron issue variants produced during the 1990s. Small manufacturing differences such as border colour are common with Belgian Air Force patches, often reflecting different production runs or embroidery contractors rather than any change in squadron role. Variant B has a yellow merrowed border.

Product History
This original Belgian Air Force 33 Squadron patch dates from the 1990s, when the squadron formed part of 9 Wing and operated the Fouga CM.170 Magister, one of Europe’s most successful jet training aircraft.
The design features a stylised Fouga Magister climbing vertically through the centre of the patch, reflecting the aircraft’s agility and the squadron’s training mission. The distinctive V-tail of the Magister is clearly represented, making the aircraft instantly recognisable to aviation enthusiasts.
Throughout the Cold War and into the 1990s, 33 Squadron contributed to maintaining Belgium’s highly trained aircrew while supporting NATO standards for pilot training and operational readiness. The squadron played an essential role in developing the pilots who would later fly the Mirage 5 and F-16 Fighting Falcon in frontline service.
Original 33 Squadron Fouga Magister patches are highly collectible among Belgian Air Force, NATO and military aviation enthusiasts. They commemorate one of Europe’s best-known military training aircraft and the squadron responsible for shaping generations of Belgian fighter pilots.

33 Squadron was responsible for advanced jet flying training within the Belgian Air Force, preparing student pilots for conversion onto frontline combat aircraft. Operating from Beauvechain Air Base, the squadron trained generations of Belgian military pilots while also supporting instructor training and international exchange programmes.
The Fouga CM.170 Magister entered Belgian Air Force service in the early 1960s and became the country’s principal jet trainer for more than forty years. Renowned for its reliability, excellent handling characteristics and distinctive butterfly tail, the Magister introduced hundreds of Belgian military pilots to high-performance jet flying before the fleet was eventually replaced by the Aermacchi SF.260 and later modern training aircraft.
