Russia Air Force Patches Военно-воздушные силы России

• Established as the Imperial Russian Air Service on 12 August 1912 Disbanded due to the revolution 1917.
• After the revolution reactivated the Red Air Fleet in 24 May 1918 and fought for the Red against the White Russians. The conflict ended 25 October 1922. The Red Air Fleet was renamed Directorate of the USSR Air Forces on 28 March 1924, and then the Directorate of the Workers-Peasants Red Army Air Forces on 1 January 1925.
• The Workers-Peasants Red Army Air Forces became the Soviet Air Forces in 1946
• Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991 the Soviet Air Forces was disbanded on 14 February 1992. The aircraft and personnel of the Soviet VVS were divided among the newly independent states. Russia received approximately 40% of the aircraft and 65% of the manpower and formed the new Russian Air Force.
