Patch History
This original Argentine Army Aviation 601 Assault Helicopter Battalion patch dates from the 1990s and represents one of the principal helicopter units of the Argentine Army Aviation Command (Comando de Aviación de Ejército).
The patch displays the battalion’s heraldic shield bearing the inscription “B Helic Asal 601” (Batallón de Helicópteros de Asalto 601). At its centre is a winged arm holding an upright sword, symbolising the unit’s combination of mobility, combat capability and rapid assault operations. The Latin motto “Non Sufficit Orbis”, meaning “The world is not enough,” reflects the battalion’s readiness to undertake demanding missions wherever required.
Based at Campo de Mayo, northwest of Buenos Aires, 601 Assault Helicopter Battalion formed part of the 601 Army Aviation Group (Agrupación de Aviación de Ejército 601). The battalion operated a mixed fleet of utility and assault helicopters, including the Bell UH-1H Huey, Bell 212, Bell 205 and later the Aérospatiale AS332 Super Puma, supporting troop transport, air assault, logistics, medical evacuation and disaster relief operations.
Produced for serving personnel, this embroidered patch represents an important unit of the Argentine Army Aviation and is highly collectible among enthusiasts of Argentine military aviation, helicopter units and South American armed forces.

During the 1990s, 601 Assault Helicopter Battalion continued to modernise its capabilities while participating in national military exercises, joint operations and humanitarian missions. The battalion remained one of the Argentine Army’s primary helicopter formations, maintaining a high level of operational readiness.
