KAIA Kabul Afghanistan International Airport ISAF Base prior to completion of the APOD Airport Protection Overlay District a 30 facility enhanced security compound constructed for the military on the north side of Kabul Airport. Construction began in autumn 2007 completed in February 2008 opened on 1 May 2009 and with the migration of all military personnel and operations from the southern portion of the Airport completed by the end of 2009 and was the single largest wartime construction project in NATOs history.
