History
25 Avn Co (Corps)
equipped with U21As C12As fixed wing aircraft and UH-1Hs OH-58C helicopters based at Stuttgart Army Air Field Echterdingen Germany with HQ and support based at Nellingen Kasserene Barracks. From 1972 the Company reported to the newly reformed 223 Aviation Battalion of 11th Aviation Group in the US Armys VII Corps following its withdrawal from Vietnam. Flying across Europe from Crete to Denmark and from England to Berlin the Company carried out VIP Transport for VII Seventh Corps commanding General and staff from Kelly Barracks fixed wing support to VII Corps divisions and major non divisional VII Corps subordinate commands as well as visiting dignitaries.
25 Aviation Company Corps Inactivated on 28 October 1988 to be reactivated moments later with 25 Aviation Companys Platoons becoming A B and D Companies of 4 Battalion 159 Aviation Regiment with the mission continuing to be the provision of readily available aviation support to the
commanding general of the VII US Corps his staff and major non-divisional subordinate commands throughout the VII Corps area together with visiting Government VIPs.
