Unit history 1947 1993

 

231 OCU was activated in March 1947 at RAF Coningsby for training Mosquito crews for light bomber and photo reconnaissance roles and was disbanded on 4 December 1949.

 

231 OCU was reactivated in December 1951 at RAF Bassingbourn to train Canberra crews in the light bomber role. Relocating to RAF Cottesmore RAF Marham and RAF wyton during its operational existence 231 OCU was redesignated the Canberra Standardisation Training Flight CSTF on 15 December 1990 reverting to 231 OCU on 13 May 1991.

 

231 OCU was disbanded at RAF Wyton on 23 April 1993.
