Cuarta Escuadrilla 4 Squadron

In January 1964 6 naval pilots were selected to acquire civilian fixed wing pilot licenses as students at Aero Club Cuatro Vientos Four Winds and once qualified establish a fixed wing Navy Pilots School as instructors. The School was renamed Cuarta Escuadrilla 4 Squadron on 21 October 1964 and received two Piper PA 24 Comanche and two Piper PA 30 twin Comanche aircraft in December 1964. The aircraft were flown with civilian registrations until 21 January 1977 when they were officially signed to the navy and provided with military registrations. The Squadron added two 2 Cessna 550C Citation aircraft to its fleet in December 1982 and February 1983. Cuarta Escuadrilla 4 Squadron retired two of its pipers in 1988 with the third in 1989 and the last in 1992. The Squadron received a Cessna Citation VII C 650 on 30 March 2007.
