Squadron history 2004-2013
No 5 Army Cooperation disbanded with Tornado F3s in 2003 at RAF Coningsby. The Squadron was reformed on 1st April 2004 at RAF Waddington operating the Airborne Stand-Off Radar ASTOR System consisting five modified Bombardier Global Express long-range business jets known as the Sentinel R Mk1 and eight Ground Stations. The Squadron also operated four Shadow R1 aircraft based on the Beechcraft King Air 350 from 2009.
These were transferred to No 14 Squadron in 2011.
This patch dates from the 2009.
