The Chilean Air Force Halcones aerobatic team Escuadrilla De Alta Acrobacia was established in 1980 equipped with five Pitts Special S2A biplanes and formally activated on 14 January 1981 at El Bosgue Air Force Base.

Following the European tour in 1989 with its Pitts Specials the Halcones converted to Extra 300 aircraft and later the 300L model. The team is equipped with seven Extra 300L with five aircraft used in the display formations.
