History

7002 Civil Engineering Flight was activated at Ramstein Maintenance Facility Ramstein AB West Germany on 1 May 1971 under 86 Combat Support Group. The Squadrons emblem was approved 17 November 1981. The Flight was enlarged and given Squadron status on 1 October 1985 being redesignated 7002 Civil Engineering Squadron becoming part of 377 Combat Support Wing until 1 November 1985 when it was controlled by USAFE switching to 17 Air Force on 30 November 1989.

On 15 June 1993 the Squadron changed its number to 702 CES and to 617 CES on 1 July 1994 when it became part of 617 Regional Support Group. The Squadron then attached to 3 Air Force 19 July 1996. 617 CES was re-designated as USAFE Construction and Training Squadron on 1 December 1997 under USAFE command. Re-designation to 435 Construction and Training Squadron occurred on 29 January 2004 under 435 Civil
Engineering Group until 15 December 2004 when it was assigned to 38 Combat Support Wing. The Squadron deactivated 18 April 2005.

435 Construction and Training Squadron USAFE was reactivated at Ramstein AB on 16 July 2009 as part of 435 Contingency Response Group.
