The F 15 Replacement Training Unit 461 TFTS of 405 Tactical Training Wing at Luke AFB received the USAFs first F 15E Strike Eagle dual role twin seat long range interdiction fighter on 12 April 1988 to commence crew training. The first F 15E transition class graduated on 24 February 1989 and once qualified crews were reassigned to operational squadrons of 4 Tactical Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson AFB. 461 TFTS was inactivated on 5 August 1994 as part of the phase down of F 15E training at Luke AFB
