Squadron History F 4 Phantom
33 Tactical Reconnaissance Training Squadron was reactivated on 15 October 1969 at Shaw AFB South Carolina with the RF-4C Phantom II reconnaissance aircraft and personnel of the provisional 4415 Combat Crew Training Squadron. The Squadron was assigned to 363 Tactical Reconnaissance Wing and was tasked with training newly assigned pilots in the tactical reconnaissance role. 33 TRTS was inactivated on
1 October 1982 when 363 Tactical Recon Wing converted to F-16 Fighting Falcons and was renamed 33 Tactical Fighter Wing. 33 Tactical Fighter Squadron was reactivated on 1 January 1985 with F 16s.
