337 Bombardment Squadron Heavy was reactivated at Dyess AFB on 20 March 1963 equipped with B 52 Stratofortress bombers assigned to 96 Operations Group Strategic Air Command for nuclear strike alert and conventional bombing tasking.

The Squadron deployed on rotational TDY to Southeast Asia in 1968 for bombardment operations in support of the war in Vietnam and in addition provided aircraft and crews to SAC units based in Southeast Asia.

337 Bomb Squadron reequipped with B 1B Lancer bombers in June 1986 becoming USAF first Squadron to operate the Lancer and began SAC nuclear strike alert duties in October 1986. The Squadron was redesignated 337 Bomb Squadron on 1 September 1991.

With the end of the Cold War and subsequent force reduction 337 Bomb Squadron was inactivated on 1 October 1994.

This patch dates from 1987.
