9 Aviation Battalion Condor was deployed to Vietnam in December 1966 to provided aviation support to 9 Infantry Division and US Navy units as the Mobile Riverine Force operating in the Mekong Delta in the III Corps and IV Corps Tactical Zones with its organic elements A Company A Jayhawks with Loaches Huey slicks and Chinooks for Air Assault and B Company Stingrays with Huey gunships together with a number of Assault Helicopter Companies and Air Cavalry Troops.

9 Aviation Battalion left Vietnam on 27 August 1969.
