425 All Weather Fighter Squadron was reactivated at RCAF Station St Hubert on 1 October 1954 equipped with CF 100 Canuck all weather fighter interceptors tasked with air defence assigned to the North American Air Defence Command NORAD. The Squadron relocated to RCAF Station Namao in October 1961 and reequipped with CF 101 Voodoo fighters as the CF 101 Operational Training Unit before moving to RCAF Station Bagotville in July 1962 and returning to front line status as 425 Tactical Fighter Squadron.
The Squadron reequipped with CF 18 Hornet fighter in 1985 to maintain round the clock alert status for the East Coast of Canada and maintain readiness for rapid deployment anywhere in the world in support of NATO or contingency operations.
In the summer of 2005 the Squadron absorbed the crews and aircraft of 433 Tactical Fighter Squadron at CFB Bagotville leaving 425 TFS as the sole fighter Squadron in 3 Wing Bagotville. In 2008 the Squadron was awarded its first battle honour since the Second World War for its part in Operation Allied Force.
This patch dates from the late 1970s.
