Joint Helicopter Support Squadron JHSS was formed in September 2009 following the merger with the RAF Mobile Air Operations Team RAF MAOT with the Joint Helicopter Support Unit JHSU which drew personnel from the Royal Corps of Transport RCT and Royal Army Ordnance Corps RAOC both now amalgamated into the Royal Logistic Corps RLC. The Squadron is located at RAF Odiham and deploys with the RAFs Chinook Force.
