No 240 OCU Operational Conversion Unit Reformed by renaming No 38 Groups Air Training Squadron joint Puma and Wessex at RAF Odiham
on 29 December 1971 taking responsibility for the operational training of all Support Helicopter crews. In 1981 the Unit finished Wessex training but added conversion for the newly arrived Chinook HC1s and later HC2s prior to disbanding on 1 October 1993 by being renamed No 27 Reserve Squadron.
