Royal Australian Air Force Air Component Middle East Task Group 633 2 was activated in 2003 to provide electronic signals intelligence ELINT element to Operations Catalyst Afghanistan and Slipper in Iraq. The Task Group had two AP 3C Orion aircraft and crew from 10 and 11 Squadrons of 92 Wing flying operations in the Middle East Area of Operations MEAO. The crews were rotated on a six monthly basis. The ground element included operations maintenance airfield security defence and logistics. With withdrawal from Iraq the Group was based at Kandahar Air Base Afghanistan. The deployment ended in December 2012.
