Flight History 1976 2009.
3 Flight Army Air Corps was formed in 1976 on the re-naming of the 15 19 Hussars Air Squadron based in Omagh Northern Ireland and operated Gazelle AH 1s.
The Flight move to Topcliffe in 1979 staying independent until joining 9 Regiment Army Air Corps in 1989. The Flight was disbanded in 1991.
3 Flight Army Air Corps Volunteers was re-activated at RAF Turnhouse in 1993 with Gazelle AH 1s. The Flight moved to RAF Leuchars on the closure of RAF Turnhouse in 1996 and became part of 7 Regiment AAC Volunteers. The Flight was disbanded on 1 April 2009.
