History 

Mobility Air Command MAC deployed US based C 130 Hercules Squadrons rotating TDY to RAF Mildenhall to provide intra theater airlift in support of US Air Forces in Europe European Command and NATO operations and exercises initially with 7441 Troop Carrier Squadron Provisional and 7442 Troop Carrier Squadron Provisional. 7441 and 7442 TCSP were inactivated in 1967 following which rotating TDY Squadrons were attached to 513 Tactical Airlift Wing or deployed as Detachments to the Wing.

Responsibility for the MAC C 130 rotating attachments and Detachments at RAF Mildenhall was reassigned from 513 TAW to 435 Tactical Airlift Group activated at RAF Mildenhall in January 1976 as part of 435 TAW. MACs reorganization of airlift in Europe permanently assigned C 130 equipped 37 Tactical Airlift Squadron to 435 TAW on 1 October 1977 to replace the rotating TDY Squadrons. MAC activated 322 Airlift Division as its headquarters at Ramstein AB West Germany for European operations in June 1978 and 435 TAG was reassigned directly to 322 AD. 322 Airlift Division activated 313 Tactical Airlift Group at RAF Mildenhall England on 15 September 1978 to manage Military Airlift Command activities at the base as the Aerial Port and 435 TAG was reassigned to 435 TAW and relocated to Rhein Main AB on 1 October 1978 to be assigned 37 TAS on 15 December 1978.

MAC continued C 130 Squadron temporary duties TDY rotations to RAF Mildenhall with one Squadron from Pope AFB based 317 Tactical Air Wing either 39 40 or 41 Tactical Airlift Squadron deployed as Bravo Squadron to 313 Tactical Airlift Group at RAF Mildenhall. 313 TAG was inactivated on 1 February 1992 and 317 TAW deployments to RAF Mildenhall ended with 40 Airlift Squadrons Bravo Squadron from July to October 1992 hosted by 100 Air Refueling Wing.
