Unit history 1968 1991

228 OCU Operational Conversion Unit was reactivated at RAF Coningsby on 1 August 1968 providing pilot training for the Phantom FGR 1and FGR 2 with a Squadron Shadow number of 64 Reserve Squadron. 228 OCU moved to RAF Leuchars where it was disbanded on 31 March 1991.

The unit wore patches for both 228 OCU and 64 Squadron.

This patch dates from the late 1978.
